The (likely) eruption began between 2020 July 10 and 15.
Spectroscopy, multiband photometry, and precise astrometry are urgently required.
Clear skies,
Patrick
Is there a name in the AAVSO database to report?
I observed a star in the position 17 58 08.48 -30 05 37.6 (J2000.0), with visual magnitude 10.6 in july 17 TU 03:25.
Hi Antonio,
I added it to VSX.
Two (possible) novae in a row, who would have thought?
Cheers,
Sebastian
Hi Antonio,
You can use either PNV J17580848-3005376 or N Sgr 2020 No. 3 for the name. There is no GCVS identification yet.
Thanks for your excellent obsevation and for submitting it to the AAVSO International Database so it can be used in studies of this nova!
Good observing,
Elizabeth
Thanks Sebastian. Uma atrás da outra! Bom demais!
saludos!

Astrometry of PNV J17580848-3005376:
17:58:08.46 -30:05:35.8
Astrometry made by Robert Fidrich (Budapest, Hungary) using CCD images made by Robert J. Modic (Willoughby, OH, US) made with a 0.25-m f/3.4 Reflector + SBIG ST-10XME CCD (T5, iTelesciope.NET) at Mayhill, USA.
HI Robert,
What is the date/time of Bob Modic's CCD images? It's important to include that information for reference.
thanks,
Elizabeth
2020 07 17.3011 UT for the V-band image.

Matching with the prior images, I noted it is more reddish now.
