Background/Interesting Fact
I started observing stars - and drawing star maps - from my room window at 11 years-old. At high school I dig into all the (few) astronomy books that were available then in Portugal. I took Chemistry at university and became an high school teacher. A revival of my interest for astronomy took place around 1997 with comet Hyakutake, but it was only in December 1999 that I began observing variable stars - along with my wife Ana Paula (CAI) - after the discovery of Nova Aquilae by my compatriot Alfredo Pereira.
