Amateur astronomer with MFA in painting (Pratt Institute) and Ph.D. in sociology (UC Berkeley). Emeritus professor, formerly at University of Wisconsin and University of Vermont. Took Astronomy 101 (with "lab") at University of New Mexico in Los Alamos. Currently using 6" Newtonian Reflector with tracking. Learning to use CCD. Near transition point to larger telescope.
