Background/Interesting Fact
I was first hooked onto Astronomy during my mid-teens, falling in love with it at a sky party in the University of Georgia campus in Athens/GA, USA, during Halley’s comet perihelion in 1985-86.
I have been practicing variable star CCD/CMOS color-transformed photometry since early 2023.
My backyard DIY remote-controlled observatory, located at 19°57’ S / 44°15’ W, 780 m, has a 203-mm f/10 SCT & an 80-mm f/5 achromatic refractor, with a few J-C photometric filters.
Having earned a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Georgia in Athens/GA, in 1988, I started in astronomy after retiring as a university professor in 2016.
I am affiliated with the AAVSO, the British Astronomical Association (BAA, UK), and the Variable Stars South (VSS, NZ).
