AAVSO ALERT NOTICE 277 (July 13, 2000)

0526-70  NOVA LMC 2000 IN THE LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD

Alert Notice 345: Request to monitor cataclysmic variables for radio observations

February 15, 2007: Dr. Christian Knigge, University of Southampton, England, has requested our assistance in monitoring ten (10) dwarf novae cataclysmic variables as part of a search for radio jet formation during outbursts. Dr. Knigge is attempting to observe a dwarf nova outburst within six hours of the outburst onset using the NRAO Very Large Array (VLA) telescope in New Mexico and the Jodrell Bank MERLIN telescope in the United Kingdom.

Special Notice #303: VLBA and e-MERLIN observations of SS Cyg underway

October 31, 2012:  The cataclysmic variable SS Cyg is beginning to decline from what appears to be a narrow outburst, and was at visual magnitude 9.1 on 2012 October 30, according to observations in the AAVSO International Database.

Alert Notice 445 - Request for monitoring of SS Cygni in support of European VLBI radio observations

August 19, 2011: Following their very successful multiwavelength observing campaign on the dwarf nova SS Cygni in 2010 April (see AAVSO Special Notices #204 and 206 and the related information page), Dr. James Miller-Jones (International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia) and colleagues have a follow-up multiwavelength campaign on SS Cyg scheduled.
