The purpose of this forum

This forum is intended for developers and users of AAVSO software (incuding scripts and spreadsheets) to collaborate and communicate. Some AAVSO software can be found here: http://www.aavso.org/software-directory

Specific uses for the forum are:

  1. For AAVSO to disseminate information to developers regarding impending download file format or database schema changes. This may also prompt useful feedback for consideration by AAVSO. This is definitely a case of N heads being better than M, where N > M.
  2. Discussion of better ways to use existing resources, e.g. suggestions by Chris Watson re: how to do more comprehensive VSX searches.
  3. Proposal and discussion of useful additional resources (e.g. web services) or project ideas.
  4. Learning from each other's mistakes and successes.
  5. Generally getting out of our "silos".
