Hi All,
I have a batch of images (75) od V452 Vul that isn't getting plate solved. All the other images I have submitted of this star have been. Is there a way to find out what VPhot doesn't like about this batch, so I can fix it and run my time series?
Darrell
Darrell,
In VPhot if you click on Admin and the Recent Uploads you can see the warning messages that are being thrown:
The program gives up because it is taking too long to solve. That's after trying UCAC4 and GSC catalogs
Please share via VPhot some images to SGEO and MZK.
Include a image that did solve and a couple of the image that failed.
If you are submitting lots of time series images you should look into having them plate solved before uploading to VPhot.
Does https://nova.astrometry.net/ solve these problem entries?
George
How/where (in VPhot) do/can I plate solve before submitting them?
Darrell
OK I sent 1 that didnt solve and one that did. Astronimy.net did solve the 2 images I tried that VPhot didn't like.
So the weird thing is that I re-submitted the batch and they did "solve" but the solution is so far off that the sequence I had wouldnt work. I made a new sequence, but the results look bad. Software having a hard time staying on the target cand comp stars.
