SunEntry is back!

SunEntry is now available for use again!

If you are using the Java Web Start version (by opening SunEntry.jnlp which you previously stored on your computer) you won't have to do a thing and you will get the new version automatically. If this doesn't work for you, please visit the SunEntry webpage and try downloading it again.

When SunEntry opens, please remember to log in with your username and new password. If you have not yet created a new password for your AAVSO account since the website was hacked on June 5th, it is necessary for you to do so before you can use SunEntry (please see instructions for this below).

Since the hacking incident happened on June 5th, some of you may not have been able to upload all of your May sunspot observations. If this is the case, please submit these observations as well as your report for the month of June. If you are not sure if you uploaded some observations or not, go ahead and try to upload them again. If any are duplicates, SunEntry will let you know and won't put them in the database. It is important to note, however, that you can only submit data for one month at a time and May and June data cannot be in the display at the same time when you click the "Upload to database" button.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of you for your patience, understanding and words of encouragement during this trying time. Believe me, I want to get SunEntry up and running again as much as you do!

If you experience problems...

The first thing you should do is reset your password (even if you already have done this once since the hacking incidence). To do this:

1. Go to any AAVSO webpage and click the "Login" button in the top right corner
2. Click the "Request new password tab"
3. Enter your username or email address and the verification word, then "Submit"
4. You should recieve an email with further instructions.

If this still doesn't help...

Please do not hesitate to contact me (sara @ aavso.org) with as many details as possible about what you did and what happened along with screenshots if possible. it also helps to know what operating system and browser you are using.
