Hi folks. We'll have a Zoom meeting of the Cataclysmic Variable Section this Sunday, October 1 at 2PM Eastern (6PM UT). Zoom meeting details to follow. Everyone interested in cataclysmic variables is invited.
We'll have an wide-ranging open discussion on working cataclysmic variables and what folks would like to see for CV section activities. Several professional astronomers will be in attendance to help with questions. Please attend if you can. We'd like the CV Section to be a resource that fosters learning, communication, and collaboration for all of us working on these fascinating systems.

Hi folks. Quick reminder that the CV Section meeting is today. The link to register and get the Zoom link sent to you is above. Looking forward to a great meeting.
-Walt
Can you post a link?
Dick Post
rspost@comcast.net
Sorry we didn't see your post in time Dick. We just finished up. Will post a summary a little later. There was a link to "register" for the meeting above and that automatically sends you an email with the zoom link. Did that not work because the meeting had already started?
-Walt
Walt,
I did not see the link. It is not their now, so it may evaporate after the meeting.
Dick
Dick,
Look in Tim Lyster's reply in this thread that he wrote on 9/28. His last sentence is "Click this link to register." The text "this link" should be in blue in your browser. The blue text is the link to register for the meeting. I'm still able to register using that link just now. See if that works.
-Walt
Yep, it is still possible to register on that link.
I hope that the meeting will be published on YouTube for everyone to benefit from it. The truth is that I am not fluent in English, and if it was posted on YouTube, I would be able to translate it. thank you all.
Thanks for attending. I hope you were able to get something from the meeting even if you aren't fully fluent. There was conversation about posting the meeting to YouTube. In the end, there were more who spoke in favor of not posting to YouTube. That's my preference as well. I am concerned that posting a meeting to YouTube can inhibit discussion. Ideally, there's plenty of open discussion. It helps to know that your conversation is not immortalized forever on the internet.
Clearest skies,
Walt
