Folks who reckon by the Julian clock will be popping the champagne corks soon with the Julian date turnover to 2460000 at 12h UT for Feb 24.  Happy ten thousand days!

Good day my friend.

I…

Good day my friend.

I have been getting into astrology and have been on a quest for knowledge for some time now.

Apart from it being the 2,460,000 Julian day on 24 February 2023, and it being a new 10,000 day mark, is there any other significance to the date?

I thought it was interesting that the AAVSO website listed “Some interesting Julian dates…” and 2,460,000 just struck me as odd.

JD significance

Zero significance, apart from mileposts in one's involvement in astronomy (say).  Given that the start date of the Julian scheme is arbitrary, obviously Gregorian calendar dates are also going to be arbitrary.
