At some point I want to extend the Leavitt's Law plugin in VStar to allow for distance to variable types other DCEP to be determined.
Here's a paper for RR Lyr period luminosity relations from 2004 (Catelan et al) :
The authors provide I,J,H,K,V band specific PL relations involving P (period) and Z (metalicity).
Are there other papers anyone would suggest? I've seen a few relavant papers but I seek guidance from others more knowledgable in this area.
I'm also interested in papers pointing to period luminosity relations for variable types other than Type I (DCEP) and RR Lyr, e.g. Mira, Type II Cepheids.
I've been working on Period - Luminosity relation for red-giant and LPV stars. I do this by taking weekly averages of .Vis entries going way back. I pull data using Hernan's LCplot.pl, then clean the data with a C++ routine and then use R routines to create weekly period estimates, and graphics.

You likely have already seen that results from Gaia are pinning down these calibrations better than before. A nice review of some early Gaia results for RR Lyrae variables is given by Lub in http://aspbooks.org/publications/529/033.pdf.

I'm searching for a V-band P-L for a target https://www.aavso.org/vsx/index.php?view=detail.top&oid=365549
The ASA-SN catalog for this star (https://asas-sn.osu.edu/variables/b6fab4cc-5f1b-57b4-b5eb-75355d20a707) states distance ~7837pc but doesn't state the P-L used to calculate this. My observations and calculations suggest ~50kpc to 70kpc depending on P-L
I'm not sure that a simple P-L relation obtains because of the complicated underlying physics. The 2004 Catelan paper is a good place to start, however. Much more recently, Merieme Chadid has been leading a group using data from an Antarctic station to reveal gravity-mode pulsation in RR Lyraes:
...which struck me as one of these ground-breaking papers that hasn't been duly recognized. She has been working with George Preston and Chris Sneden on detailed spectroscopic analysis as well.
