On the lifecycle of VSP charts

Hi

I have recently made some organisation into my chart collection and realised I have a few of them that are about 2 years old. I guess for most of them the comparison magnitudes will remain unchanged and will therefore be valid for a long time. However, I thought that from time to time some changes are introduced: new measurements lead to new magnitudes for comparison stars, or some new comparison stars are introduced or found to be variable and removed, etc. This made me wonder about the lifecycle of any given VSP chart. How often a given VSP chart should be updated? Has this been discussed before? Are there any guidelines or rules of thumb for this?

AAVSO releases, every now and then, an excel file that list updates done for stars.

I use this listing to go thru the charts I use and update them.  Not sure if these files are achieved somewhere but I think they should be or with more visibility given to when these update are released.

Good to know!

Thank you John for your answer. I will pay attention to the publication of these lists for updated stars.

Best,
