AAVSO Alert Notice 575 announces an observing campaign on the black hole x-ray binary Swift J1357.2-0933 (CRTS J135716.8-093238). Please see the Alert Notice for observing instructions and other information.
Many thanks, and good observing,
Elizabeth Waagen, AAVSO HQ
Hi, I plan to start observing this object but I verified that on the AAVSO chart there are very few comparison stars, than I downloaded maps from USNOB catalogue but the mags are not the same, what kind of star atlas can I use to avoid errors?
Thanks

Hi
If someone who is currently observing this could post the current magnitude in BVI it would be helpful.
Much thanks
Simon Lowther
B - 16.41
V - 16.46
Great thanks!

Hi Paolo,
The sequence for Swift J1357.2-0933 is quite faint, so to see it you have to ask for an 'F' or 'G' scale chart. The comp stars are there down to magnitude 18.9V.
Good observing,
Elizabeth
Hi
I've been imaging BV for the past few days, very faint in B, too low in the light polluted horizon for my C14 Edge HD and STF8300, after downloading a transformed photometryreport from Vphot, I tried to upload but it's telling that my header has errors and I don't know what they are..
Imaging now binned for several hours, I should get better SNR's
Best!
