Hi,
this morning I'm unable to access Vphot, usually I log in on the AAVSO site and follow the link to the page with the button Click here to log in Vphot
but now i'm getting
- You must be a current member, with an obscode and logged in. See below.
As I'm a current member and my AAVSO login work I don't know what to do
Can someone help me?
Thanks
Gianluca:
I just logged into VPhot with no problem.
When this happens, try logging out of the AAVSO web site and back in. Then go to VPhot.
See if this works?
Ken
thanks, I tried with another macbook and it worked, some stale cookies apparently
tomorrow I'll do some clenaing
as an It professional shame on me :-)
I do have that issue also very frequently. I use 3 computers to work in VPhot, it happened today again on two of the three. Nothing helps, whatever was suggested. Just wait a day or so and then I can typically get in again.
I started having this problem months ago. Yes, it is very common. I stumbled on a work around which always seems to work for me with either of my MacBook Pro's with FireFox.
When you try to log in to VPhot and you get "...you must be a member yadda, yadda ..." go the AAVSO home page. (There is a link on that page labeled Home.)
At the very top of the AAVSO home page is "My account". If you need to log in do that first. If you are already logged in, just continue with this same process. Either way, then scroll down to the box with the telescope icon labeled Tools and Observer Resources. Click in that box.
In the next page (For Observers) click on the VPhot icon. This brings you back to the VPhot log in page. You should then be able to log in.
Phil
I see that problem occasionally here. I just beat on the door until it lets me in.
Often (but not always) logs me out in the middle of uploads. I don't get the hour of inactivity.
There were discussions about the VPHOT log-in vs the site log-in a few months ago, so maybe it is being looked at.
