Hi!
Some time ago - I'm not sure when but I think it was at least 2 weeks ago, I submitted a spectrum as a candidate contributor of spectra, to be evaluated. However, I have since then not heard anything and don't know where to find my submission.
Anyone knows more about this process or could help me and check if I've made a mistake or things are just taking some time?

Thanks for…
Hello Magnus,
Thanks for posting! I think I remember validating your standard star spectrum a couple of weeks ago. However, that was before we added the email notification system to AVSpec, so you wouldn't have received a message when the spectrum was reviewed.
To check whether your spectrum was accepted, please do the following:
If you don't see the "Star observed:" box, that's good! That means that your standard star spectrum was approved, so now you can submit any variable star.
If you can still see the standard star selector, that means that your first attempt was declined. In that case, please go ahead and upload a standard star spectrum again. Since we now have an email system in place, if your spectrum is declined again, you'll receive an email with useful feedback letting you know what you need to change to get it approved.
I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to post here, or to reach out to me directly at lherrington@aavso.org.
Clear Skies!
Hi!
Thanks a lot!! :) I DO see the "Star observed" dropbox - so I guess my first spectrum was declined.
Could perhaps be that I forgot to normalize in my first attempt?
Anyway, I'll resubmit and see what happens. Is it OK to resubmit the same or should I try another? Might take a while for skies to clear....

Hi!
So now I think I have submitted a new spectrum. But when clicking on Submit, I am met with the message "Please log in to use this service". Does that mean I have not succeded in submitting one? I am logged in, as evidenced by this posting.....

Hi!
So, when I test the "Submit" tab today, I can obiously submit a spectrum for a standard star. I guess this means that my previous submission was declined...? However, I have not received any feedback or information email.
Am I missing something?
