I am looking for potential EB targets to perform some photometry on for a summer research project for my university. I will be using the Paul P. Feder Observatory in Moorhead, Minnesota. The requirement for the target would be to have a magnitude greater than 17 and will a period of 1 day or less. The project will be focused around performing curve analysis similar to that performed in the paper "Light Curve Analysis of Eclipsing Binary Stars LX Leo, V345 UMa, and MU Leo" published in JAAVSO volume 50. Any suggestions are appreciated? If any other info will help please let me know.

Thank you,

LX Leo

Tanner,

LX Leo is a veyr nice EW target with a very short Period that allows for a full light curve in one night…

By “greater than magnitude…

By “greater than magnitude 17” do you mean brighter or fainter?

Potential EB Target suggestions

Tanner:

There are many potential targets that can be searched for using the VSX (https://www.aavso.org/vsx/index.php?view=search.top&ql=2) search tool with filters for orbital period and magnitude for stars in any constellation emerging in the eastern skies.
