A couple of times or so I've received inquiries about the "LPV Circular" and how to receive it. Years ago I recalled this publication but never used it and forgot it existed. Turns out it still does exist, and to receive it ones needs to contact the staff at AAVSO HQ to get on the subscription list. I did so a couple of months ago and found it is published weekly. However, I have not found it to be of much use since we now have better tools available to use. Also, I'm told the LPV Circular is very likely to be discontinued before too long. I recommend using instead the AAVSO Target Tool and the AAVSO Light Curve Generator to examine the present and past behavior of an LPV (and all the others). You will have access to much more info than the Circular ever provided. Also, I've been asked about the resurrection of the LPV Maxima/Minima publication. I inquired about this and learned that this pub is, for the foreseeable future, defunct. Even though a software package was written to help prepare it the pub still required a lot of staff time to keep it current. And the time was needed for many other tasks. I am pondering the feasibility of writing my own software to see if I can try this max/min publication again and better automate the process. But don't hold your breath! Last, but not least, I would like to try using a "LPV Newsletter", analogous to the newsletter the SPP Section has started. More on this in a new Forum topic!
