AAVSOnet capabilities in Spectroscopy

Hello All,

OC61 is said to have a spectrograph. However, from what I have read, it has never been used for scientific purposes. I am interested in whether something has changed in this regard. If one were to write an AAVSOnet Proposal, would it be possible to receive a spectrum of a selected object?

If so, what conditions should be met? I have in mind, in particular, the acceptable brightness of the object and the maximum time that the telescope could spend on something like this. In short, what capabilities in this area would OC61 offer? I do not have a particular need for a spectrum of a particular object - I am interested for now in learning the data processing itself for now, so the ability to also receive bias, dark, flat, wavelength calibration, reference star from Pickles/Miles catalog images would be key for me. However, I know that for AVSpec submission only dark subtraction and wavelength calibration are required.
