Still can’t understand anything. It sounds like you are over driving the volume on the Nashville side. On my iPad, the lowest volume setting is still to loud with head phones. Sound from the call in number is no better.
Exited gotowebinar, re-launched. Also tried again by rebooting my computer and restarting gotowebinar. The voice greeting and tones from gotowebinar were clear and loud, but the audio of the person speaking at the AAVSO meeting is still FAR to faint to hear. Can only detect it is there, but cannot make out anything that is said. Problem must be the mic or settings on the AAVSO computer. Session one had okay volume (though as said, it was highly distorted some of the time), as was Kristine's talk last night. Something is different for Session 2.
Hi Owen... it was still inaudible... might have been louder but still not nearly loud enough to be understandable. Totally different from last night and session 1.
Am now on a different computer. This computer has more audio gain, and the audio is now understandable though still faint. The GoToWebinar greeting message comes out VERY loud, much louder than the meeting audio. Thus the meeting audio must be quite weak "going in", and this is born out by the webinar control panel audio "meter": it never goes above 2 squares (out of about 18).
ALSO, we are now 10 or more minutes in to the talk, and I am still seeing the first slide. I tried exiting GoToWebinar and restarted it. Same result. On both computers.
Update: we are now in to the 2nd talk of Session 3, what I'm seeing is still the title slide of the first talk of the session.
We are listening, but are unable to diagnose the problem mid-session. I undestand your frustration. We will re-start GoTo Webinar after this presentation, and hope the problem will be corrected...
I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
20 minutes in to session 4, audio is better (the GoToWebinar Control Panal Control Panel sound "meter" is showing higher audio levels, If you are using a pre-amp, it could still be set higher because the audio from the talks is still MUCH weaker than the "welcome message"). Also, the slides are now advancing.
Thank you for your work in making this function better...
Near the end of Rodriguez' talk, there was a sudden step increase in audio volume... up to approx the level of the GoToWebinar welcome message... though it is now arguably overdriven with some distortion...
Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry that the webinar was not working as smoothly as we all want. We'll mention the pre-amp issue to the on-site AV person to see if that might be addressable. To be 100% honest, we've hd some AV issues onsite as well, so I'm not 100% confident that we can solve the volume without distorition issue.
Better sound for session 2
in session 2, audo is EXTREMELY faint. I can hear something is there, but cannot possibly make it out. Was okay earlier.
ALSO, it looks like session 2 started 15 minutes early... so I've missed the first 15 minutes.

Hi Gary,
I've been logged in to the webinar for session 2 and the audio has been fine here. Did the audio improve later in the session.

Ok I'm logged in remotley from HQ and the audio is working fine here.
Session 3 has good sound, but the slides aren’t advancing. Given the dismal performance, I don’t think I’ll waste the money on this next time.

So I guess we just get a podcast now. Is anyone in Nashville even aware of the problems with the webinar?
Hello all,
We are listening, but are unable to diagnose the problem mid-session. I undestand your frustration. We will re-start GoTo Webinar after this presentation, and hope the problem will be corrected...
I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
Best wishes - clear skies,
Stella.
Please now use Session 4 https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4379137496421151747 for the next slides
Same problem with session 4, slides aren’t changing. I think I’m done with this mess.
Dear hjg,
I just wanted to let you know that we hear your frustration. The AAVSO staff are working with the on-site AV person to fix this as soon as possible.
The slide show has now been fixed and the slides are working correctly now in Session 4.
I hope you will continue to use the webinar.
Again appologies for the technical issues we have been trying very hard to solve this issue with Vanderbilt tech.

I am glad you got things working, but for me it came too late, so I gave up. I don’t plan
on trying to watch on Saturday. Life has too many frustrations already without me deliberately adding any more.
