As I suspected when I first imaged this field about 9 or 10 years ago, it looks like UY Gem has a very faint (about V=16 from eyeballing the image) very close companion to its northwest. The two are just about touching in my latest image taken the other night. It is so close that I can't exclude it from my measurement aperture. Does anyone know the brightness of this companion so that I can subtract it out of my measurement?
I wonder whether this could be a physical pair or if it is just a chance alignment.
