Dear EB observers,
Possibly am I wrong on this, or an alert is just about to be published … yet, I haven't seen any Alert/Call for observations about the coming secondary eclipse of the triple star system b Per, which is due to occur around 2024 sept 02 11:30 UT (JD 2460555.98), about only TWO weeks ahead from now - time is running.
I'm planning to begin observations asap, weather permitting, so as to calibrate the ellipsoidal variations of the star.
Will there be a coordinated campaign to observe this coming old friend eclipse ? Or are the observations no longer needed ? I don't think so, judging by the imprecision in the timing/ anticipated LC of the last observed primary eclipse.
Is Donald Collins (CDK) somewhere to confirm all of this stuff ?
Clear skies,
Christophe
