When posting a message on one of our forums, it is not unusual to get a pink box containing the message "Unable to send email. Contact the site administrator if the problem persists.”
This is a false alarm and you can ignore it. The email notification of your forum post does indeed get sent to everyone subscribed to the forum with a valid email address. (The message is generated whenever there are any invalid emails on the subscriber list - even if there is just one).
Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to fix this bug, but it is on our list.

I just had the "Unable to send" error pop up when sending a message through the "contact" function on a member profile. Presumably, the only mail address involved was that of the intended recipient. I also got a green box saying "your message has been sent."
Hello Tom,
It is possible that the person you tried to contact did not choose to allow people to get in touch with them via the "Personal Contact Form" (this is a setting you can access when you go to your profile and click the "Edit" tab).
Please contact me directly and I can write to the person if possible with your message.
