Hi, Assuming that I have a set of observational data (for example, the magnitutde of a star over time, or the light intensity of a star under different filters) and I would like to create a graphical curve for the data that also provides a mathematical expression description of the curve, what is the best software tool to do this? Is it a tool that the AAVSO offers? Or are there other, better software available to do this? What would you recommend? Thanks!

Hi Ed
See https://www.aavso.org/vstar-overview
Models (polynomial, Fourier) are created and made available as an R function or Excel formula, for example.
The next release is currently in development and test.
One benefit is that it's free and multi-platform.

Sounds good. Thanks!
