VVV-NOV-003 = OGLE-2011-BLG-1444: symbiotic nova in Sco
The outburst of this recently discovered symbiotic nova in Sco started
already in September 2011!
In it's long lasting maximum the star varies between 10.24 and 11.58 in I
band. Taking into account color index V-I=1.5 the star can be observed
around 12-13.5 in V.
Coordinates of the object:
17:50:19.27, -33:39:07.3 (J2000.0)

New AAVSO sequence has been recently created for this star. Hopefully it will be uploaded into VSD soon.

Sorry, there was a typo, but I cannot edit the original post. So instead of ATEL 5213 the symbiotic nature of the object was described in ATEL 5215:

A brand new AAVSO chart with sequence for this symbiotic nova is now available from VSP. You just need to type: VVV-NOV-003

According to the observations I have been fortunate enough to make, this object has decreased from 12th to 13th magnitude in V. The B-V color is currently estimated to be +0.72 (slowly increased). The most impressive change I'm seeing right now is the large and rapid increase in the V-Rc index up to +1.53 from +0.55 between July 20.599UT and July 22.202UT. The Rc-Ic indice is a relatively modest +0.56.
kindest regards, Steve
This object carries the AUID '000-BLC-300' in VSX, or simply BLC-300 as I like to call it.
Plenty of change here! The V mag is back up to 12.5 (I saw 13.3V a couple of nights ago). The B-V is remaining quite stable at around +0.7 but the V-Rc, having rapidly increased to about +1.5 a couple of nights ago has just as quickly returned to the +0.6 level.
kind regards,
Steve
I took a follow up spectra of this star tonight. It is very interesting with strong H lines plus Fe lines.
