As I begin to wade back into the visual observing pool, I noticed that R Cas is having one of its brightest maxima in the last few decades. It's visible to the unaided eye and a nice target for binoculars now.
R CAS is also one of my program stars. It was a real treat last night to take down the binoculars and see it with my naked eyes for the first time since I started observing.
