Dear colleagues!
The current state of our P Cyg campaign enables with all our collected data (Vmag & Halpha equivalent width) to try a period analysis of the calculated intrinsic Halpha line flux (Fig.2), the primary aim of the AAVSO campaign. The intrinsic Halpha line flux was calculated by division of the Halpha equivalent width (shown in Fig. 1) by the contemporaneous photometric Vmag data of the AAVSO observer.
That intrinsic Halpha line flux data, enable a period analysis in Fig.3. This so-called Scargle-diagram shows a clear dominant period of 310 day. For the first time we receive with our data a reliable reference of the periodic character of the intrinsic flux of the Halpha emission. It will be of high interest to see, how the found period can be improved with further data within the next years. You should be informed that Noel Richardson (Département de physique Université de Montréal) asked for our Halpha EW data from 2014-2015. He wants to try to find out with V-mag data of the nano-satellites from BRITE campaign more or less similar periodicities. I think we can expect results of his investigation soon.
