Searching VSX for a non-variable star

Hi, I'm new to this and just trying to find my way around.

I printed out a chart and photometry data for a particular variable star. There was only one comparison star in the field which was AUID 000-BCP-223. I was interested in what information VSX holds for that star so I entered its AUID in the search field (name) but it says there are no records matching the search criteria. I think VSX does allow searches for non-variable stars so why was it not able to find the record?

All the best

VSX only includes variable stars

Hello Steve,

VSX doesn't have information on non-variable stars, it is a variable star database.
If you want to get the information on the comparison star, you have to click on the link to the "Photometry table" and you will see the photometric information available.
If you want magnitudes in several passbands (other than B and V) you will have to set that in the VSP form (field at the bottom) before creating the chart.
Since the star is not variable, there wouldn't be any other information to list on the VSX side.

Cheers,
Sebastian
