Whether you are just taking your first steps into the world of photometry or you are an experienced observer wanting to perfect your technique, we have a class for you! There are several CHOICE courses coming up that you should seriously consider taking:
CCD Photometry—Part I (Jan 29 - Feb 23)
Exoplanet Observing (Feb 5 - Mar 3)
Variable Star Classification & Light Curves (Mar 5 - 30)
CCD Photometry—Part II (April 2 - 27)
Photoelectric Photometry (PEP) in the 20th Century (April 2 - 27)
Each of these on-line courses lasts 4 weeks and is taught by an experienced AAVSOer who is volunteering a considerable amount of their time to lead students through the course material and discussion. There are readings from the manuals, quizzes and exams to help you gauge your progress, and sometimes hands-on assignments at your telescope. You will also be given ample opportunity to ask questions and get answers which is extrememly valuable for observers at any level.
