Dear all,

Alexandre Amorim callas the attention to the following CBAT report:
http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/followups/J17320840-4357306.html

The magnitude is given as 01.3 unfiltered. It is to be assumed that if it is an unfiltered CCD observation, the detector couldn't reach mag. 1 without saturation. My guess is that it is 10.3 instead of 01.3. Also if it was mag. 1.3 it wouldn't make sense adding a leading zero to the magnitude.

Anyway, let's see what turns out with this new object.

Cheers,
Sebastian

Not a nova

Already solved by Hiroyuki Maehara who informs through vsnet that according to Nishiyama-san and Kabashima-san, the magnitude was 10.3.

The star is a red star at 17 32 08.41 -43 57 00.1 (J2000.0), 2MASS J17320840-4357001 = IRAS 17285-4354 (J-K= 2.02).

Not a nova then.

Cheers,
Sebastian
