AAVSO Alert Notice 607 announces an observing campaign on the polar MASTER OT J132104.04+560957.8 beginning immediately and running through December 6. V or CV photometry is essential to the success of this campaign. Please see the notice for details and observing instructions.
Many thanks, and Good observing,
Elizabeth Waagen, AAVSO HQ
Dear AAVSO Colleagues,
I am collaborating with Dr. Kennedy on this campaign. I think that it might be helpful to show a sample light curve of J1321 in order to illustrate the behavior that we're investigating.
J1321 normally shows two photometric maxima per orbit. The fainter of these two maxima (the secondary maximum) is highly variable. The attached light curve covers parts of two orbits of J1321. In the second orbit, the primary and secondary maxima appear normally, and I have labeled them. However, in the previous orbit, the secondary maximum was absent; I've indicated the time at which it should have occured. Since last July, these missing secondary maxima have been occuring more frequently.
Best Regards,
Colin
