GZ cnc has a range of 13.1 - 15.4 and at present it looks to be in a superoutburst. Last night it was about magnitude 12.0 which is way above the chart range. The only compasision close to this is 12.9. I know it's not the correct way ask, but any chance of extending the sequence while it is currently in a brighter outburst. Not sure how long it will stay bright!

I added several brighter comps to the sequence- 124, 122, 120, 117 but you'll probably have to plot a D scale chart to get them all. If they had been any closer we would have had them before with the Henden USNO sequence. Fortunately, APASS gives us what we need a bit further out in this star poor field.

The LCG shows very little data for GZ Cnc in the last few months, especially lately. Are you submitting your data to AAVSO? I'm measuring several stars in the neihgorhood, so will add it to my list for tonight.

Hi Jim, I have data on GZ Cnc this season but I'm currently 10 months behind in typing up data to the AAVSO. It's a bit of a worry for me as there is almost 10,000 obs to type up which is a lot of time involved. Two many clear nights!

Wow, Rod how did you manage that? Even doing 40-50 obs or so per night, it shouldn't have been that tough to enter them in WebObs. I use Google Chrome browser which remembers values in fields, so it helps a bit, especially if you observe many of the same stars each night? I think WebObs allows upload a file too, which allows you to update stars offline even more quickly.

It's not that simple for me Mike. I'll do 100-140 minimun per night then type up some selected activity fot cvnet, go to bed at 3:00am. Up at 7:00am to go to work. Recently had 7 nights in a row with the same routine. You can get behind quite easily!

We have been monitoring GZ Cnc with Sonoita/AAVSOnet for a number of years. In 2013, we have 12 BV datasets (basically, every other night, with the most recent images being taken on 2012-02-02); about 50 datasets each in 2012, 2011 and 2010. These have not been submitted to the AID, so if anyone wants to "adopt" this star, I can probably get the images sent to the ftp site or to VPHOT (700+ images).
