I'm getting this error message virtually every line in Transform Applier

# Cannot transform ENSEMBLE obs without an average CMAGINS and CREFMAG.

It's all Greek to me.

Note the addition of the CMAGINS and CREFMAG fields in the notes section in the second time series report. These fields are what TransformApplier is looking for so it knows what the mags of the average ensemble comp are.

I recall during the course, that you like to run individual filter reports in VPhot and add them each into TA. This will not work with the current TA algorithms. Train yourself to run a Time Series multi image/filter photometry  in VPhot.

Make sense? Give it a try?

Oh Boy,

Thanks for the info…

Oh Boy,

Thanks for the info. So near and yet so far. That's a shame because it looked like I was a couple of clicks away from transformed obs.

After a good January when I managed 4 long nights I'm still finding my way with exposures, limitations of my system, suitable programme etc.

After many years obtaining long series PEP of SR's, I started a rather more exciting programme of CV's at least to start. The additional benefit being that these are popular targets and I can and am indeed comparing with other CCD/CMOS observers.

Right or wrong I have started taking usually 3 images for each target in Johnson B and V filters. My calibration software ASTAP stacks and calibrates then outputs as one image for each filter. These get uploaded to VPhot for one data point per filter, so I don't really have a series of observations other than the initial raw images.

If I understand what you are saying I would need to calibrate individual acquired images and upload these large 65Mb files to VPhot for entry into a time series.

Over the last week I have calibrated and uploaded 3 targets and each takes about half a day. Luckily I have a lot of free time but this seems to be way too long. I fear I may have gone down a dead end with the hardware(AISair imager) and software (ASTAP).

I'm now thinking given that I have my coefficients from TG if I can transform another way and convincing VPhot they are transformed. Maybe entering manually a line or two into the FITS files??

More Efficient

Kevin;

The photometry process is actually more efficient (one click/report) when you use one Time Series analysis rather than 3 Single Photometry analyses.

Then load a single aavso report into TA and transform. Give it a try with the images already in your image list.
