I have a question about the Simple SID monitor described at http://www.aavso.org/print/simple-easy-build-sid-receiver
The instructions describe identifying the correct capacitors to tune the antenna. Are these capacitors the C1 in the circuit diagram? Or are they parallel, in addition to C1, where C1 is placed on the circuit board and the tuning caps are at the antenna?
Long ago I started a gyrator3 project and a Google Group to share notes. ( https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/gyrator-3-constructi… ). For various reasons it has been dormant. I've re-awakened that group with an annoucement that I wanted to finish my Gyrator project and got a response from a guy in Australia who was in the same boat: gyrator sitting on the bench waiting for an excuse to get back to it. He seems fired up to give it a go too. I've started a blog to track my progress: http://sidmonitor.blogspot.com/
So with luck and a fair wind I should be able to get 2 monitors online in the next months and maybe a third will go online in Australia!
