The last reported outburst was in 1997. Reported magnitudes for the current outburst are: JD 2454756.498 (2008 Oct 16.998 UT), m(vis) < 16.1 (G. Poyner); JD 2454758.2944 (2008 Oct 18.7944 UT), m(vis) < 14.6 (E. Muyllaert); JD 2454759.3340 (2008 Oct 19.834 UT), m(vis) = 12.4 (H. Hautecler); JD 2454759.3646 (2008 Oct 19.8646), m(vis) = 12.5 (E. Muyllaert). All observations, both visual estimates and instrumental photometry, are urgently requested. For instrumental observers, please observe so that you obtain S/N of at least 50. Filtered and unfiltered observations are acceptable -- filtered are preferred if you can obtain good S/N in reasonable time. V1251 Cyg is located at RA: 21 40 54.40 , Dec: +48 39 43.0 (J2000) Charts for V1251 Cyg may be plotted using VSP: http://www.aavso.org/observing/charts/vsp/index.html?pickname=V1251%20Cyg Please report all observations to the AAVSO as "V1251 CYG".
