Please visit the campaigns page of the YSO section website to find out about this new observing campaign. I have already lost most of Mon to my worst horizon (West) but others will no doubt have a better view. Obviously this is pretty urgent as this area is setting with the lighter evenings.
AAVSO Alert Notice 518 announces a new observing campaign on the UX Ori-type T Tauri star 2MASS J06593158-0405277. Multicolor photometry and visual observations are requested of this star (V=11.4, K=7.6). Please see the Alert Notice for details.
Good observing,
Elizabeth Waagen, AAVSO HQ
I was out observing before dawn and had this field of view in the eyepiece. Unfortunately this was at the end of a long observing run and dew was starting to form on the telescope optics, and there was light fog in the air. The best I could do was to call it <12.0 mag. at 9:37 UT September 13. I think I glimpsed it now and then but the 12.0 star on the chart was the dimmest I could definitely see.
