Many thanks, and Good observing,
Elizabeth O. Waagen, AAVSO HQ
XMM-Newton did perform 8 observations of the region so far. We originally asked for six, but two of the observations were broken up into two shorter bits to make them fit into the orbits of the XMM better, as the spacecraft orbits around the Earth. With that, our XMM observations should be done unless we discover technical problems that require a repeat on one for them (unlikely). I have not seen the X-ray data yet because Christian Schneider in Europe takes care of that, so I can't say what XMM has observed, but I expect to see quite some variabilty and at least a few flares.
Thanks to all observers who supported this program! We will download the data from the database and compare it to the X-ray data when we have done the X-ray measurements.
