Would someone tell me how "Our website uses cookies to improve your user experience." actually improves my user experience. The policy really doesn't address that.

I ask because I actively avoid accepting cookies and am slightly annoyed at bypassing them each time I come to the AAVSO site. If there is some real improvement to my experience I can find, other than not seeing that banner daily, I might accept them.

Cookies

The VPhot application uses cookies to save the user having to answer the same questions over-and-over. When you upload images, it remembers which telescope profile you used before. When you go to look at an image, it remembers the zoom factor you used before. And many others.

I've added things like this to speed the workflow.

The VSP application will soon be rewritten. I hope it uses cookies extensively to save me, and other users in a hurry, time.

When you register for a webinar the application remembers the basic info you need to register (I assume it is using cookies). I just wish it would remember the funky little questions that follow.  Mostly because it would save me the minor irritation from describing my self as a "citizen scientist".

I to have a "minor irritation" describing myself as a "citizen scientist".  There should be an option of "amateur astronomer" to chose in the list.

In today speak I "identify as" an amateur astronomer.  I have for 50+ years and I always will.  I find nothing demeaning or belittling in being one.

Just my 2 cents.  Have a great day and stay safe.
