I printed a chart for BL Cam and the chart shows it's position. There are other nearby stars that are labeled with three digit numbers. Are those stars comp stars, meaning stars that are not variable? And are the three digit numbers the V magnitudes of those stars (i.e. 148 = 14.8 magnitude)? I am attaching the chart with this post.

Exactly, those are the V mags with the decimal point omitted. I suggest we keep this discussion in the in the original "first star" topic, so I'll make more comments about your BL Cam chart there.
