Hi,
In the field "Chart ID" of DSLR observation, what I should enter: the Chart ID or the sequence ID of the photometric table?
I say this, because in the photometric table I read: " Report this sequence as <Sequence ID> in the chart field of your observation report.
Regards,
Luigi
You report the chartID that you see on the photometry page.
But note that with the new VSP API, this chartID will be the same as that of its related finding chart!
This is change from the old VSP and one of the improvements from Will's efforts at HQ.

Hi George,
thanks for your answer.
I tried to take a test, but the Chart ID and photometric table differ in the last letter. For example, the chart ID for W Cyg is X15296BXB while that of the photometric table is X15296BXC.

Luigi
There is a strange behavior.
In VSP, if I plot a chart for a variabile, and then click on link "Photometric table for this chart", the two sequences differ for last letter.
Instead, if I put the Chart ID and plot the chart, and then click on link "Photometric table for this chart", the two sequences are the same.

Yes, you might get different chartID's from the chart page and the photometry page. But they will be equivalent. Either yield the same photometry when put into the system which uses the API.
Try plugging both chartID's into the api:
https://www.aavso.org/apps/vsp/api/chart/put-chart-id-here/?format=xml
The will return the same information. They better!
So, for the purposes of building AAVSO Extended Format records for WebObs, you can use either.
George
Thank you very much, George.
