I am starting up a mailing list for informal communication among PEP observers. The purpose is to give us a medium for staying connected as a community. If you are a current observer, or past observer who might like to become active again, please consider joining, and pass the word on to others. PEP still has its place in the photometry world - it is ideal for the Alpha Coma Berenices campaign.

I have just finished my first swipe at implementing the "real" mail list. I had previously set up a simple re-mailing function, but that turned out to have problems with comcast and gmail addresses. Subscription requests are handled on this web page:
http://lists.cantordust.net/listinfo.cgi/peptalk-cantordust.net
The password is only needed to see the mail archive. Do not reuse a password from elsewhere, because the silly system mails you a copy of your password in plaintext. I had hoped to set up something simpler with no archive and password, but it was not to be.
Let's try this out and see how it works. If it is unsatisfactory, I will look for alternatives.
