Dear AAVSO Friends,

We are sad to inform you that AAVSO solar observer Brenda Branchett passed away on October 26, 2017, after a long illness. Brenda was a longtime sunspot observer, and had earned numerous AAVSO Solar Observer Awards for her observing. She was also active in the Astronomical League, and was one of the creators of the AL's Herschel 400 observing program. Brenda was the wife of longtime AAVSO variable star observer Dave Branchett (BDT), and we extend our deepest condolences to him and to their family and friends.
