AlgorithmError: cannot find specified frequency in period analysis result

We (my students and I) are using VStar for CV star analysis, and are getting the above algorithm error in a few situations. I'll attach a screenshot of me getting it while following the manual exactly, pg 57: eta Aql, those date ranges, DC DFT - standard search, top hits, create model with 4 harmonics -> Bam, error windows. It also happens when we try CLEANest (next screenshot, from Manual). We have been able to avoid it in some circumstances by using a period search instead of a frequency search - then we can create models and use CLEANest - but the frequency search (the method illustrated in the handbook), does not work.

Basically what seems to be happening is that the CLEANest frequencies are not found in the list - like, the cleaned frequencies are not actually close enough to the originals, or something. But isn't that one of the whole points of CLEANest, to refine the frequencies that were found?

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Bug fix

This is caused by a bug that has been fixed but not yet formally released:

  https://github.com/AAVSO/VStar/issues/294

Since we are in between formal releases, you can get an intermediate release with the fix here:

  https://github.com/AAVSO/VStar/releases

What operating system are you using? If Windows, we can point you to an installer if that helps.

Max and I are working towards a new official release. The Done column here gives an idea of what will be in the next release:

I have been without a personal laptop for a few weeks so just getting back into it.
