Further to AAVSO Alert Notice 796, Dr. Anna Francesca Pala (European Space Agency, ESAC, Spain) informs us that observations of the cataclysmic variable V479 And have been scheduled with the Hubble Space Telescope for:

2022 December 22  21:57:07 - December 23 03:27:30 UT

Observers are reminded that a positive V observation no more than 24 hours before the HST observation start-time is required for the HST team to make a decision about allowing the observations to take place. Your observations from tonight through December 22/23 are critical, and please continue nightly V snapshots through 2023 January 7. This target is faint at minimum; the most recent observation of V479 And in the AAVSO International Database showed it at magnitude 17.82 V +/- 0.05 on 2022 2022 Dec. 18.80825 UT (R. Farfán, Seville, Spain).

Please see Alert Notice 796 for additional details and instructions.

Coordinates (J2000):  R.A. 00 18 56.93   Dec. +34 54 44.2   (from VSX entry for V479 And)

Charts with comparison stars for V479 And may be created using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP).

Please report observations to the AAVSO International Database using the name V479 AND. Reduce and submit observations as soon as possible after making them.
